Choose your movement wisely…

This week you will start the process of choosing your social movement. I suggest at least doing a brief google search on the movements that you’re interested in and then narrowing it down to one that you won’t mind being stuck with all semester 🙂

Here is a list of social movements to get you started

  • Prohibition/Temperance
  • Civil Rights
  • Women’s Suffrage Movement
  • Free Speech
  • LGBT
  • Anti-War
  • Feminist
  • Occupy Wall Street
  • The Dream Act
  • Anti-Bullying
  • Anti-Apartheid
  • Environmental Justice
  • Disability Rights
  • Human Rights
  • Occupy Wall Street
  • Black Power
  • White Power/Ku Klux Klan

You are not limited to this list, but I reserve the right to veto your choice.

Assignment Sheet: Topic Proposal Assignment Sheet

We will go over the Assignment Sheet more in class this evening.

If you haven’t checked your email lately, you missed my decision on our course text. The bookstore should start having the 7th edition in stock this week, but I encourage you to purchase online, especially if you have Amazon Student Prime. You can also rent it online if you prefer the e-book.

We will be using the 7th edition of Everything’s an Argument (without readings).
  • ISBN-10: 1457698676
  • ISBN-13: 978-1457698675

If you don’t already have Amazon Student Prime or Amazon Prime in general, I strongly encourage you to invest in it. It’s been a lifesaver for me the last few years of school. I also heard a rumor that there will be a sale this weekend on membership.
